Since their creation, the members of Megadeth have renewed the approach of metal and have imposed by their presence and their long hair a massive rock carried by fast and energetic musicians. Among them, the rhythmic pillar is David Ellefson. This exceptional five-string bass has been played by David himself on several concerts and has all the stage specificities desired by the bassist.
David Ellefson was quick to choose the Jackson brand of instruments, finding them particularly suited to his playing style. The resonant poplar body is constructed with a top contour that provides a stable and comfortable anchor for pick or finger picking, while the bottom contour offers perfect balance when resting on the knee. Designed for fast, crisp playing, the maple fingerboard flattens as you move up the neck for increased playing comfort and quick articulation. The Jackson HiMass 5-string bridge sharpens the attack of notes for added punch and clarity, tuning for improved sustain without altering the fundamental tone of the instrument. For a stylish touch, Ellefson added the all-new Jackson 4x1 headstock (4 tuners on top, 1 on bottom) that features the "Radiation" logo and Ellefson's facsimile signature.
This bass guitar was a live instrument used by David Ellefson on several dates. As such, it has many of the characteristics of the bassist's personal instruments, including the unique sticker on his bass guitars, the famous Megadeth soldier skull, and it has been signed and dated by David Ellefson on the body.
