The SPOT REPLICA set of pickups was handmade in the woods of Norway by none other than Thomas Nilsen, founder of Cream T Pickups. Nilsen has learnt his trade with Seth Lover and he has made many pickups for ‘Burst connoisseur and bluesman extraordinaire Billy Gibbons, therefore he was the ideal craftsman to replicate a legendary pair of original PAF pickups.
The original double-whites were found in the Les Paul Standard numbered 9-1688, the ‘59 Burst nicknamed Spot, arguably one of the best-sounding vintage guitars from Kalamazoo. Nilsen’s proprietary Pickup Oracle Machine has allowed him to analyse the originals with great precision and create what we believe is the most faithful reproduction of a pair of PAFs to date.
